When COVID-19 hit during my fifth year as a music teacher at a Title I school in Southeast DC, I watched students who already faced a lot of adversity lose access to even the basic tools other kids in the district had. So I started a YouTube channel, Music with Miss Bliss, to give students and teachers free, high-quality music lessons no matter what device or connection they had at home. It was monetized within six months. To date, those lessons have been watched over 500,000 times.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
That channel taught me something I hadn’t expected: how to read audience data and analytics to figure out what actually keeps people engaged, and how to design content that holds attention instead of losing it in the first ten seconds. That discovery pulled me into social media work, where I started managing content for small businesses including Andrea Levine Artists, Half Moon Travel Clothing, and PGP Wedding Films.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
At the same time, I wanted to get back to my education roots, which led me to a learning experience design role with Cre8tion, a done-for-you course creation agency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Today, I split my time across social media strategy for Half Moon and PGP, learning experience design for Cre8tion, and private music lessons in Northern Virginia. Different mediums, same core skill: understanding people well enough to design something that actually reaches them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
